Junji Ito Manga Collage Knitted Cardigan Sweater

Dive into the dark with the Junji Ito Manga Collage Knitted Cardigan Sweater. A dense black and white collage of horror manga style panels covers the cardigan, with wide eyed faces, spiral shaped lines, cats and crowded crowds, all framed by a solid black collar, placket and cuffs.

About the Style

This design is fan art inspired by the look of Japanese horror manga, especially the detailed ink work for which Junji Ito is known. Titles such as Uzumaki, Tomie and The Enigma of Amigara Fault made the genre famous for its creepy spirals, unsettling faces and slow building dread. The cardigan is a tribute to that world and does not claim any connection with the artist.

What to Notice

• Panel collage: many tiny comic frames fill the front, the back and the sleeves.
• Ink details: fine hatching and heavy blacks recreate the look of printed manga.
• Black trim: a solid frame keeps the busy artwork neat.
• Cardigan structure: V neck, buttons and ribbed cuffs.

Where It Fits

Pair it with a plain black shirt for a bookstore trip, a Halloween party, a horror movie night or a manga club meeting. Because it is monochrome, it matches almost everything in your closet, from dark jeans to gray pants. Hang it on a hook by the door for Halloween week and you will always be ready for a spooky gathering, a haunted trail walk or a tabletop horror session.

A perfect gift for the horror manga reader in your life who owns every volume, for birthdays, Halloween or holiday swaps.
