Kaneda Akira 2-in-1 Performance Shorts

Get a little neon Tokyo into your training bag with the Kaneda Akira 2-in-1 Performance Shorts. Bright red fabric on the outside is marked with the blue and red capsule from Kaneda’s jacket, and the black liner below is splashed with red graphic shapes and an illustration of the biker himself.

About Kaneda and Akira

Shotaro Kaneda leads a gang of teenage bikers through the ruined streets of Neo-Tokyo in the 1988 film Akira. His glossy red motorcycle and the capsule on his jacket became symbols of cyberpunk style that still show up in streetwear, music videos and games. He is cocky and loyal, and his rivalry with Tetsuo drives the story’s explosive finale.

Design and Fit

• Capsule detail: a single pill graphic in red and blue sits on the front of the outer short.
• Inked liner: black compression tights with red splatter shapes and a seated Kaneda panel.
• Layered build: the outer layer keeps airflow while the liner gives support and prevents riding up.
• Adjustable waist: elastic band with white drawstring cords.

Gym, Street or Screening Night

Wear them for lifting, a motorbike ride, a cardio session or a midnight screening of the film. They pair nicely with a black hoodie and chunky sneakers when you want a Neo-Tokyo outfit that still works at the gym.

If you are shopping for a cyberpunk or retro anime fan, this one makes a sharp birthday present. It also fits a Christmas gift pile for anyone who owns the poster, the soundtrack and a red jacket they refuse to retire.
