About My Neighbor Totoro

My Neighbor Totoro is a quiet masterpiece from Studio Ghibli, set in the countryside of 1950s Japan. Two sisters move near an old camphor tree and meet the soot sprites, the Catbus and the great Totoro, whose famous roar is as warm as it is loud. The film became the studio’s mascot, and the round silhouette of Totoro appears in the studio logo.

Design and Fit

• Busy repeat pattern: many small Totoro faces create a camouflage style look.
• Earth tone palette: gray green and cream tones feel natural and calm.
• Compression cut: a stretchy fit that stays close to the leg.
• Black waistband: wide and comfortable.

Where to Wear Them

They suit trail runs, yoga, lifting and everyday workouts. A plain green or black top keeps the outfit simple, and the pattern does the talking.

They make a charming gift for a Ghibli fan who owns a Totoro plush, for a birthday, a holiday gift or a graduation present.

If you want the pattern to feel quieter, pair the spats with solid gray or black shorts over the top. For a bolder look, wear a bright green top and let the faces peek out from underneath.

The busy print is also forgiving on gym floors, hiding sweat marks and creases well.
