About the Air Nomads

In Avatar: The Last Airbender, the Air Nomads were a peaceful people who lived in temples high in the mountains and mastered the art of airbending. Aang, the last survivor of his people, carries their philosophy of freedom and gentleness through the whole series. His yellow and orange clothing, the arrow tattoos and his glider staff are among the most recognizable images in modern animation.
