Soot Sprites My Neighbor Totoro Mid Top Basketball Shoes

Meet the tiniest residents of the old house with the Soot Sprites My Neighbor Totoro Mid Top Basketball Shoes. A light gray upper is covered in round black fuzzballs with big white eyes, while the toe, heel and ankle trim switch to solid black for a sharp two tone finish.

About the Soot Sprites

Soot sprites, also called susuwatari, are the fluffy black dust creatures that scatter when Satsuki and Mei move into their new country home in My Neighbor Totoro. They carry little candy and hide in dark corners, and they appear again in Spirited Away, where they haul coal for Kamaji. Their cuteness has made them a beloved Studio Ghibli icon.

Shoe Highlights

• Repeating pattern: dozens of tiny sprites are scattered across the gray panels, so you spot new faces each time you look.
• Contrast panels: solid black overlays make the pattern stand out.
• Mid top comfort: a padded collar and lace up front fit most foot shapes.
• White midsole: a clean base that keeps the black and gray design bright.

Everyday Wear

These are easy to style with neutral clothes, such as black jeans, an olive jacket or a cozy cream knit. Wear them to movie nights, a cafe date, a farmer’s market or a trip to the Ghibli museum wishlist you keep dreaming about. The soft gray tone also keeps the shoes friendly and a little whimsical, even in a serious outfit.

They make a sweet present for a Ghibli fan, a teacher who loves cute things or a friend who rewatches Totoro every rainy season.
