Join the forest spirits in the My Neighbor Totoro Pattern Studio Ghibli Knitted Cardigan Sweater. A swirling collage of big Totoro faces, with wide red mouths and round whiskers, fills an olive and khaki background that resembles woodland camouflage, with green ribbing at the cuffs and hem.

About Totoro

My Neighbor Totoro is a 1988 Studio Ghibli film directed by Hayao Miyazaki about two sisters, Satsuki and Mei, who move to the countryside and meet a gentle forest spirit. Totoro sleeps in a giant camphor tree, appears to the girls at a rainy bus stop and takes them on a flight on a spinning top. The Catbus, the soot sprites and the acorns all add to the film’s cozy magic.

Design Highlights

• Layered faces: Totoro grins, roars and smiles in overlapping shapes.
• Earthy palette: olive, tan, brown and cream feel like a forest floor.
• Red mouths: small bursts of color keep the pattern lively.
• Same print on all sides: the design wraps around the sleeves and back.
• Cardigan form: V neck with buttons.

Where to Wear It

It is wonderful for rainy day walks, picnics, library visits and Ghibli movie nights. The woodland colors pair well with brown boots, denim and cream scarves. It also makes a good layer on camping trips. Add an acorn charm on your bag and you complete the forest friend outfit.

It makes a warm gift for a Totoro lover, for birthdays, Christmas and baby shower presents for parents who want their children to grow up with Ghibli.
