Princess Mononoke Studio Ghibli Mid Top Basketball Shoes

Hear the call of the forest in the Princess Mononoke Studio Ghibli Mid Top Basketball Shoes. A cream upper is edged with bright red and trimmed with shaggy white wolf fur at the collar, while San appears with her red markings and a snarling wolf on the side, painted in the soft style of the film.

About San and the Forest

San, known as Princess Mononoke, is a girl raised by the wolf goddess Moro and sworn to defend the forest from the humans of Irontown. Ashitaka, a cursed prince, tries to bring peace between both sides. Hayao Miyazaki’s film is admired for its ancient spirits, its themes of nature and its strong, complex heroine.

Highlights

• Fur trim collar: shaggy white tufts evoke the wolf clan.
• Red war paint: bold red on the toe and collar recalls San’s markings.
• Painted artwork: a hand drawn style on the side panel gives the shoe a gallery quality.
• High top comfort: padded ankle and a lace up front.

When to Wear Them

Pair them with olive pants and a brown jacket for a woodland feel, or with plain jeans and a white tee. They are great for a hike, a Ghibli screening, a day at the botanical garden or a casual weekend in the city.

The cream color keeps the pair light and soft, and the red adds a little fire.

They make a meaningful gift for a nature lover. Give them for a birthday, Earth Day, Christmas or graduation, and maybe plant a small tree to go with them.
