Porco Rosso Studio Ghibli Mid Top Basketball Shoes

Take to the skies in the Porco Rosso Studio Ghibli Mid Top Basketball Shoes. A red, white and green color mix recalls the Italian flag, a brown collar adds a leather flight jacket feel, and a pilot in goggles and a scarf looks out from the side panel next to the little red seaplane.

About Porco Rosso

Porco Rosso is a World War I ace turned bounty hunter who lives on the Adriatic coast and has been cursed with the head of a pig. He flies a crimson seaplane and takes on sky pirates for a living. Hayao Miyazaki’s film is full of sunlit seas, old fashioned adventure and a hero who says he would rather be a pig than a fascist.

Design Highlights

• Tricolor palette: red, white and green blocks give the pair a sporty Mediterranean look.
• Brown leather collar: the top edge brings the aviator jacket to mind.
• Pilot art: goggles, scarf and a seaplane are drawn in a lively style.
• Mid top comfort: lace up front and a padded ankle.

Where They Belong

Wear them with khaki pants and a white shirt for a vintage pilot look, or with jeans and a bomber jacket. They suit a Ghibli screening, a flight museum visit, a road trip or a day by the water.

The cream and red mix gives a retro feel that stands apart from most anime sneakers.

Give them to the friend who loves old planes and older movies. They are a classy birthday, Father’s Day or Christmas gift.
