Step into the ring with the Ippo Makunouchi Hajime no Ippo Mid Top Basketball Shoes. Vivid red and crisp white panels are paired like a boxer’s trunks, and Ippo is drawn on the side in his guard stance with his gloves ready to throw a punch.

About Ippo Makunouchi

Ippo Makunouchi is a shy high school student who is saved from bullies by the boxer Mamoru Takamura. Inspired, he joins the Kamogawa Gym and trains until he becomes a featherweight champion. His signature punch, the Dempsey Roll, and his heavy Gazelle Punch show the power he builds through endless roadwork and heavy bag work. His polite manner, honest heart and refusal to quit have made him a legend among sports anime fans.

Design Highlights

• Boxing colors: red and white blocks look like fresh trunks and gloves.
• Stance art: the guard pose captures the focus before a combination.
• Everyday build: a cushioned cuff, snug laces and a clean white outsole.

Where to Wear Them

They fit gym sessions, roadwork runs, sparring days and casual outfits. Pair them with gray joggers and a white tee, or add a red hoodie for team spirit.

The contrast of red and white is classic, so the shoes work well for sports fans who like a clean, athletic look.

Fans of the show will also enjoy how the bold colors recall the energy of a title fight, with the crowd cheering as the bell rings. They make a motivating gift for a boxer or a friend training for a goal, for a birthday, graduation or Christmas.
